A wonderful sight, to be sure! Very lucky to be able to see those precious little things up close. And without getting nailed with a beak by mom or dad!
Doubt I’ll get the chance to get that up close and personal with nature again. The father of these chicks has lived in our yard year-round for the 5 years we’ve been here. We feed him all winter with chopped up grapes, so perhaps he was okay with me poking my head into his nest.
How wonderful! I once saw a nest of mockingbirds, too, but couldn’t get nearly this good a shot. They are so hungry! Maybe they’d like a loaf of your glorious bread!
Wow what a great shot!
Thanks – just dumb luck – and a nest that was at my eye level ;-).
Glorious!

Lovely!
aww this is such an amazing picture!! Never seen a mockingbird before either, I think they don’t come up this far ):
Great shot! The kids are going to love seeing this.
Excellent!
After I posted this I came up w/ a better title: what happens when you let eggs hatch.
Wow, amazing! I’ve never seen something like that for myself in real life, only on TV.

Oh that’s lovely Annie, he’s become part of your family.

It was a lucky shot, that’s for sure! Wouldn’t it be fun to give them a little something to eat :-)?
Happy Easter! The best kind of eggs-the kind that do what they’re SUPPOSED to do by nature and yield beautiful little peepers!
Exactly right!!
Gorgeous! ♥
C’mon! Shoot some regurgitated bug into those mugs!

The Hatched Duck
I know – I’m a loser, right? Where’s my stash of regurgitated bugs?? Sheesh.
Maybe regurgitated tofu would work in a pinch?
They might prefer tempeh.
What a gorgeous photo! Truly an amazing shot. I am sooo impressed!
Aww, thanks!
These are too cute – an Easter miracle or your skill? 😀
Happy Easter!
Choc Chip Uru
Ha! Yeah…dumb luck! Right place, right time?
No way I was thinking along the lines of skill 😀
Hehe!
Wow, what a great picture! You should submit it to Birds and Bloom magazine, Fantastic.
Hmmm, never heard of that magazine. I’ll check it out! Thanks ;-)!

Thank you, Esther!
Awesome shot! Exactly what I think about at Easter…reminds me of the Berenstein Bears Easter book..brother and sister find a nest!
Oh wow! How precious!
