Pear & Parsley sounds like a big American retailer’s idea of a quaint British shop (or should that be shoppe?) opening soon in a mall near you that sells soaps, pretty tea towels and cocktail napkins printed with every conceivable form of “Keep Calm and (fill in the blank).” But in fact, it’s just another kind of green smoothie. When one has committed to consuming a green smoothie (or two) each day, one also has to commit to trying different ingredients so as not to get bored of the usual smoothie ingredient suspects (not that there is anything wrong with my good friends, kale and oranges). I especially like this combination because it isn’t too sweet and it’s very refreshing.

Love your intro to this smoothie 🙂 It sounds delicious!
Thanks, Lisa!
Looks yummo Annie :). The parsley pepperiness would balance out the piquant sweetness of the pear and this would be one grown up smoothie 🙂 Love it!
Parsley, pepperiness, piquant, pear! Well-played, my dear!
Even “weller” tasting 😉
Nice Alliteration!
Yep, I’m also a partaker of the daily green smoothie. I have all of these ingredients. I’ll give it a go!
I think you’ll love it. I hope you’ll love it ;-)!
I made it this morning! Perfect and pleasing to the palate was this pear and parsley….ah…concoction!
I braved wild weather to pick parsley from the herb garden. I used coconut water in place of water. And I finally confirmed what I have long suspected. The lettuce that we call Cos is the lettuce that goes by the name of Romaine in the US. So, an all round enlightening morning!
I also enjoy fresh mint paired with pear.
Thanks for the recipe. Mat enjoyed it too- I just didn’t mention the celery 😉 I don’t think he’d cope with that knowledge. : D It was enjoyed by my 3 yr old too.
🙂 How nice to have VERY fresh parsley and coconut water sounds like a great idea. Cos – that’s a new name to me – so now we both had an enlightening day!
Oh gosh, I forget about using mint! Wonderful!
Mmm I love a good green smoothie, would love to try this 😀
Cheers

Ooh I love parsley in a green smoothie! How much would you add to this one?
Oy! Becky…I hate when I forget to list one of the main ingredients! Thank you for gently pointing that out to me. I’d use a nice, big handful :-).
tee hee
Aw, no sweat! I have done the same thing many times. 🙂 Pears are totally on my grocery list this week!
I love a green smoothie, always makes me feel energized.
I know it!
Pears and parsley would make a cute blog name too! Yummmm.
I think you’re right! Spin-off blog??
You’re so inventive with your smoothies, I would never have thought of putting pears and parsley together but I love them both and your photo looks gorgeous. Better as a smoothie than a shoppe name, I think. 🙂
Agreed!
What a positively pleasing and perfect pairing of parsley and pear!
We have a winner :-)!
Hahah I am obsessed with the name Pear and Parsley- totally the name of a cute kitchen accessory company!
Yes – another good one – I could totally see that.
Hello dear!
I’m featuring this on HVF this week, I just love it! I’m so glad you decided to join in the Vegan Friday fun and hope to see you back 🙂
What a divine & tasty good power smoothy this is! Yummy!
Thanks, Sophie!
This smoothie sounds scrumptious! I love parsley and have a huge bunch in the fridge right now. I planned on making tabbouleh this weekend but will have to put aside a handful for this smoothie.
You don’t need a whole lot – let me know if you make it :-)!
Wow yum this sounds fantastic Annie – a must try!
I would NEVER think to combine the two. Great idea! Love surprise flavor combos.
Ooooh, parsley! I love mint in my smoothies but have yet to experiment with other herbs. I’m very intrigued!
Sounds delicious and nicely different! I suppose the guinea pigs might share some of the parsley I just bought for them! They do love their parsley.
Need to add this to my smoothie rotation- love how ‘different’ it sounds!
Ooo I got most of those ingredients at the house. Never thought I could incorporate celery but I guess why not. Green smoothies are now part of my morning routine so I’m excited to try this version.
Celery adds just that little something-something.

It absolutely does sound like a British shoppe! Funny! Well, if you ever decide to move abroad and open a retail space, you already have the name picked out! 🙂
I never think to put celery in my smoothies, but I love juicing it. I’ll have to remember that in the future!
Celery adds just a nice little something – but it’s easy to overdo it and overpower the smoothie.
Putting parsley in smoothies is one of the only ways I get The Husband to ingest it! Thanks for a great recipe for me to try!
