I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day holiday and are ready to launch yourselves into summer! A lot has been happening behind the scenes for me and it’s time to share – so let’s get to it!
I’M WRITING A COOKBOOK
The first and biggest piece of news I have to share with you is that I recently signed with a publisher to create a cookbook that is tentatively scheduled to be released in Spring 2015. Hooooly moly!! Noodling around on this blog for the past three+ years, I never, ever considered that a publisher would come to me – but that’s what happened – and I’m both thrilled and scared to death. Not only will I be developing all new recipes (about 130!), I’ll be food-stylin’ and snapping the photos. I’ve got my work cut out for me! A heartfelt thanks to Cedar Fort Publishing and especially to Hannah for their faith in me and for their patience as we worked through the signing process.
I NEED RECIPE TESTERS
Yep, you knew that was coming. I really, really need your tastebuds to let me know if I’m wildly off-track or if I’m in the groove. Kel is an awesome taste-tester, but he’s just a tad biased (though I’m now very clear that he does not love chile powder) and poor guy, there’s only so much food he can eat. If you’re interested, please fill out the sign-up form – or email me and I’ll hook you up to my private testing site so you can access recipes and leave comments and feedback.
AN UNREFINED VEGAN TAKES A BREATHER…
Embarking on a huge writing project means a couple of things for me and for me blog…Naturally I will be cloistering myself in the kitchen – chopping, stirring, baking, tasting, scribbling illegible notes as well as writing the text for the book and figuring out just how I want the photos to look. During that time, I won’t be sharing a whole lot of recipes here and my posting schedule will most likely change. Expect to see less food and more about other things. I’m going to take most of June “off” so that I can go hang with my friends Somer and Poppy in Utah and to pause for a bit and reenergize.
…BUT WON’T BE COMPLETELY ASLEEP
To keep things humming, I have a couple of giveaways lined up for July:
- The Organically Clean Home, by Becky Rapinchuk. I love this book! It’s changed the way that I clean my home. You’ll want to make sure that you enter this giveaway when the post goes live.
- Vegan Beans From Around the World, by Kelsey Kinser. Devoted to internationally-inspired bean-centric recipes, this cookbook is filled with simple, satisfying, and easy recipes. Did you know you could make milk from frozen edamame beans?!
- I’m thrilled to host another mega-giveaway with NuNaturals for FOUR winners to receive bottles of their new (AWESOME!) NuStevia Cocoa Syrup, NuStevia Simple Syrup, NuStevia Vanilla Stevia Liquid, and a box of their wonderful NuStevia White Stevia Powder – plus a bonus product. NuNaturals is so generous – this one’s open internationally – so do not miss out.
- And before all of that fun – on June 9 I’ll be sharing my Breakfast in Bed entry on Canned Time with a recipe that is for you pancake and waffle lovers out there. Please check out the previous entries because there are some seriously tasty eats on offer!
VIRTUAL VEGAN (linky) POTLUCK
In what may be an excellent example of really poor timing, I decided to jump on the link party bandwagon and take Angela and one other blogger (TBD) along with me. Starting July 2 and every Wednesday thereafter, we’ll be hosting the Virtual Vegan (linky) Potluck on all three blogs. That means every Wednesday we hope you’ll share with us one or two of your recent recipes in any of your favorite potluck categories – from appetizers to desserts. I thought this would be a fun way to keep the VVP alive throughout the year (and in case you were wondering, the next full blown VVP will happen in November). Stay tuned for more details.
I guess that’s all the news that’s fit to print right now! I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who takes time out of your day to stop by, read, comment, and maybe even try a recipe or two. It means the world!
!! This is such awesome news – I can just imagine what a stunning work it will be 😀 Congrats – you definitely deserve it – your recipes are always so fresh and delightful, and there’s definitely space on everyone’s counter for a copy 🙂
Awww! Thanks so much – so sweet.
How wonderfully exciting! So much news there, congratulations.
Looking forward to sharing some of my recipes.
Robyn x
Thanks, Robyn!
I’m very excited about the linky party – – should be a great way to share.
Huge congratulations on the recipe book front! I imagine it’s going to be a beautiful production with your amazing photos and recipes. I admire you taking on the weekly ‘linky’ as well, you’re going to be a busy gal, but I guess having different things on the go will give you a bit of a break from concentrating on one thing. And you’re doing a VVP in November, too? Wow, you like a challenge!
Appreciate it, Lorna. Yep, I’m a complete nutter! What am I thinking?!
So much news! Congratulations again on the cookbook Annie. I’m sure it’s going to be a big hit.
Looking forward to taking part in the linky potluck too 😀
Make the most of your time off as I bet things are going to get busy!!

Thanks, Brandi!! Sometimes it feels as if I’ve been blogging for twenty years :-P… Hey, did you get an email from me last night?? Check, check!!
This is so exciting!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!
Weeeeeee!!! I’m pretty excited for myself, too :-). Thanks, luv.
Congrats!! That’s wonderful news, can’t wait to read it!!
Thank you, ma’am!

I cannot believe it took me this long to figure out that a VVP linky party was a good idea! D’oh!!
Congratulations!!! and i thought this post was just about the cookbook.. you are going to be busy! breathe!
Richa, I think I’ve lost my mind! Having a bit of a freak out this morning (HOW CAN I POSSIBLY FINISH BY OCTOBER 1??), but I’ll get over it :-P. From the outside it looks as if you are handling the stress like a champ!
Congrats sooooo much, this has been a long time coming and I don’t know anyone who deserves this opportunity more 😀
So excited for you and can’t wait to see it!
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
CCU, thank you so very much – what a sweetheart you are. xoxo
So much exciting stuff! Congratulations, miss!
:-p. Thank you, dear!
This is awesome exciting news, dear Anne! I am so happy for you Yeahhhhh!
Thank you, my friend!
Such wonderful news Annie – I’m SO excited for you!!! I know your cookbook is going to be wonderful, because every one of your recipes that I’ve tried has been wonderful. I made your coconut cashew cream cheese for Poppy and she’s in love with the stuff. I’m considering being a tester for your cookbook, but that might be hard for me since my hubby and I are about to put our house on the market (I don’t anticipate cooking much while our house is on the market because it makes such a mess and you never know when someone will want to look at your house). Anyway, you are going to absolutely love meeting Poppy – she is such a delight. I know you already know this from your blogging connection, but when you meet her you will love her even more. She’s absolutely charming! Have fun with Poppy and Somer. Celeste 🙂
Thank you, Celeste! It looks as if you ladies had a great time and I can’t think of a better host and “tour guide” for Poppy’s CA visit. I get to meet Poppy today :-)! PS I’ll need testers for several months so keep it in mind.
Wow I am THRILLED for you – that is the best news I have heard in a long time 🙂 Yayyy! Your book will be amazing Annie,- I know it will! You got what it takes 🙂 XXXX
Have a fantastic time away – have fun! Send my love to Somer!
Thanks, dear Anne! Your support means so much. I got your recipe tester form (yay!) and I’ll get an invitation email to you as soon as I’m back home. xoxo
