Description
It is the rare walk across the pastures or through the woods that doesn’t yield some relic of life, or of former life: a bleached deer bone, the pale apparition of a shed snake skin; an empty box turtle shell with its delicate mica-like covering starting to peel; a half of a freshwater clam shell resting on top of a cow patty, its smooth, opalescent inside glinting in the sunlight. The evidence of life and of death is ever-present, and to me, endlessly fascinating. I created Remains: Evidence of Life & Death on the Prairie to share my finds and to document the cycle of life on the plains.
Remains is a generous 8.5″ x 8.5″, 73-page paperback of lush full-color photographs. It is available at Amazon for $17.98. Or, download the full-color PDF here, for $5.99.
